Citizens of Umm Rawaba countryside revealed that there were cases of Rapid Support Militia attacks on residents of villages east of Umm Rawaba, adjacent to the Kosti National Asphalt- Umm Rawaba, on a tribal basis, killing, displacing and burning villages with the aim of displacing them.

Citizens said yesterday, Friday, May 10, 2024, that a large part of the village of Sheikh Mukhtar was burned, that there were cases of killings among citizens of all age groups, and that the entire population of the village had been displaced, as well as all the villages adjacent to the village of Sheikh Mukhtar were invaded and their inhabitants were displaced to the north.

They added that now all these villages have become devoid of inhabitants, namely (the village of Sheikh Mukhtar / Balhat / Abu Awa Al-Qadi / Al-Ghabsha).

They confirmed that all residents of the villages adjacent to the asphalt are now homeless, without shelter, without food and water.

The same sources added that the village of (Al-Badiriya bin Muhammad) in the Umm Rawaba countryside was subjected to a militia attack, killing three unarmed citizens, and that the entire village was looted. The village of Qaddim, west of Umm. Rawaba (10 km), Friday May 10 afternoon, was attacked and looted by militias with combat vehicles.

In this context, citizens highlighted the need for international human rights organizations to intervene to condemn the Rapid Support Militia and to conduct fair and transparent investigations into the violations committed against them, which are qualified as crimes against humanity punishable by international humanitarian laws. law.

They confirmed that what is happening to them is a systematic targeting of ethnic groups from all communities in Eastern Kordofan, with the aim of displacing them from their lands and replacing the population with new ones.
