Red Sea Health launches national campaign to respond to polio
The representative of the Federal Minister of Health, Advisor on Therapeutic Medicine, Dr. Ismat Mustafa, praised the continuous cooperation between the Federal and Red Sea Ministries of Health, thanks to which many joint programs and events have been carried out. This came during the launch of the National Polio Response Campaign this morning at Al-Thawra Health Center in Port Sudan, wishing the success of the campaign, praising the success of the campaigns in the state, calling for more efforts to reach every target child and stressing the importance of health awareness.
While the Director of the Health Sector of the Red Sea State congratulated the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahlam Abdul Rasoul, the role of the promotion and vaccination departments for their efforts in the success of the vaccination campaigns, and congratulated the vaccination program which won the World Health Organization Achievement Medal, stressing the need to reach all children in the state, in addition to the importance of awareness raising.
Dr. Muhammad Abdel Qader, Director of the State Basic Health Care Department, stressed that despite the circumstances the country is going through, the ministry continued to provide services, explaining the role of partners in continuing the service, noting the continuation of routine vaccination services, stating today that we are celebrating the launch of the third cycle after the success of the first and second, highlighting the training of cadres and the delivery of supplies to all localities, revealing a federal and state supervision plan in cooperation with partners, indicating that the campaign will continue until August 22 of this month through a door-to-door strategy, calling on the citizens of the state, including mothers and families, to pay attention to vaccinating children of the targeted ages, calling for the importance of concerted efforts by the authorities, the people and the community and intensifying media awareness, for the success of the campaign targeting 236,108 children in the state.
The World Health Representative, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sadiq said that the organization, together with its partners, is training cadres working in the field of vaccination, thanking the Federal Ministry of Vaccination for its eagerness to vaccinate Sudanese children. He highlighted the peculiarity of the state, which has thus carried out three rounds. of the appearance of the virus in environmental samples. He praised the campaigns that contributed to stopping the mutated virus in the environment of the state, and we hope to implement the last successful campaign in the state 0.
The UNICEF representative thanked all those who contributed to the success of the tours in the state, commending the Federal Ministry of Health and its work in maintaining vaccination services despite the war conditions.
