Today, the Red Sea University signed a joint understanding agreement with the Sudan Mineral Resources Company Limited. This agreement aims to achieve integration in various academic, research and training activities, optimize the exploitation of scientific capabilities and infrastructures and exchange experiences in the Earth domain. sciences and facilitate scientific research activities and academic programs serving the mining sector in Sudan.

It was signed on behalf of the university by Professor Abdul Qadir Badawi Mohamed, director of the university, and on behalf of the Sudan Mineral Resources Company, Mohamed Taher Mohamed Din, director of the company.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Taha Ahmed Mahmoud Karkar, chairman of the university's board of directors, Dr. Aboud Suleiman, secretary for scientific affairs, Dr. Nour El-Din Saleh Obaid, vice-president of the university, and engineer Abdullah Issa, member of the University's Investment Department.

The university director gave an introductory overview of the university, reviewing its vision, mission and objectives, as well as its research centers and projects focused on community service, with particular reference to the role of College of Earth Sciences as one of the oldest colleges and its contribution to solving mining problems.

The university director confirmed that the signing of this memorandum is the culmination of a series of previous meetings, appreciating the role of the Sudan Mineral Resources Company. He added that this partnership will help find solutions to mining problems and will be a model for. be imitated in states where mining operations are active.

Badawi stressed that the university is fully ready to cooperate in anything that could serve society.

For his part, the director of the Sudan Mineral Resources Company, Mohamed Taher Mohamed Deen, expressed his joy at this partnership, praising the central role played by the Red Sea University in serving the community.

Muhammad Taher highlighted the importance of cooperation with the university as a scientific and research institution, emphasizing the need for the business of the university's role in raising awareness on how to optimally use the mineral resources and combat the environmental impacts resulting from mining, through specialized colleges. scientific research, seminars and workshops. He also affirmed the company's full support for all initiatives and projects that advance stability and development in mining and various fields, while strengthening future relations between the two parties.

At the end of the ceremony, the President of the University Council presented the university's commemorative shield to the director of the Sudan Mineral Resources Company. This was followed by a tour of the campus, which included academic and research facilities.
