🔸 Local Radio Shendi held its regular radio platform, which covered a group of development projects and services that address the challenges the region has experienced.

🔸Engineer Walid Mahjoub, Director of Local Water, and Ms. Samia Othman, Director of the General Administration of Health and Housing, participated in the dialogue. The dialogue was moderated by Mr. Ihab Ashry, in the presence of the director of the radio, Engineer Al-Nazir Muhammad Ahmed, where everyone sought to highlight the efforts being made to improve the quality of life in the region. The discussion covered many topics, including how local government is responding to growing challenges and how to involve the community in these development efforts.

⭕The challenges of water and solar energy..

🔸Engineer Walid Mahjoub presented a summary of the current challenges in water availability, where he highlighted that the conversion of the energy used for pumps into solar energy made it possible to overcome certain obstacles, emphasizing that this Conversion not only helps reduce costs but also ensures continuity of water supply in a reliable and sustainable manner. He highlighted the support of national and international organizations such as the Red Crescent and UNICEF in expanding and improving the water supply, highlighting the effective partnership that has emerged between these agencies and the local government to achieve common goals. He also mentioned the Nile station project as one of the important steps to solve water problems in Shendi town, adding that this project will also help strengthen cooperation among surrounding communities and make Drinking water is a right accessible to all.

⭕The role of health and housing..

🔸 Professor Samia Othman gave a comprehensive overview of her administration's role in promoting public health, addressing in detail the importance of clean water not only as a means of preventing disease, but also as a fundamental element for improve the quality of life in general. . She stressed that the availability of clean water can reduce rates of infectious diseases such as cholera and typhoid, which pose major health challenges in the region. In this context, he presented his comprehensive plan to deal with diseases that can arise in times of crisis by forming specialized work teams capable of immediately responding to health emergencies.

🔸 She also confirmed the success of efforts to control the spread of cholera in the city, and explained how health awareness and teaching preventative behaviors have greatly contributed to reducing the number of reported cases. As part of his speech, Professor Samia discussed the health situation in general in Shendi, noting that it is currently good despite the presence of some challenges such as increasing pressure on health services due to internal migration and of population growth. He also revealed management strategies to improve access to health services, including expanding the network of health centers and providing training to health workers to improve their skills.
