Russia's Torment Is Near – Masarat – ✍️ Mahfouz Abdeen
Russia is now part of what was called the Soviet Union, which has been eaten away by the mites of Western intelligence and transferred to many states, but Russia remains the strength and greatness that was the Soviet Union, one of the poles of power in the world and maintained the global balance before it tilted in favor of the Western camp led by the United States of America.
Russia is present in the memory of the Sudanese people through the Sudanese Communist Party, and (communism) entered Sudan through Egypt, as did the Muslim Brotherhood movement, founded by Hassan al-Banna in Egypt in 1928 AD.
Russia is present in the Sudanese memory through the Russian-made car called (Bulga), which was used as a taxi in sandy areas, especially in the Nile, North and North Kordofan states. It is known for its strength and durability. and also through the car known as (Lada) and was known as (Doctor) because a large number of them were imported for the benefit of doctors in Sudan.
All Sudanese know the Kalashnikov rifle, which is a Russian invention and manufacture. It is named after its manufacturer, Kalashnikov, in his memory.
Until recently, Russia was strongly present in the Sudanese school curriculum, and students knew the railway map of the Soviet Union, and I remember (Chita) to (Vladvestok), if memory did not exist. Students in Sudanese schools knew about wheat fields, gold mines, oil fields and mysteries in Russia.
This is Russia, but how did her torment come? Yes, her torment is close, and the word “torment” is known in the dictionary of Sudanese song, meaning suffering in “love.” Many poets of Sudanese song do not leave the lyrics of their songs without the word “torment.” as the artist Muhammad Wardi sings (“Torture me and be creative”), as well as “Oh, he tortured me and kept you captive.)
Russia, present in Sudan through the school curriculum, through Russian industries and projects, through armaments (Kalashnikovs) and through its presence in the political theatre through the Sudanese Communist Party, (was absent).
When Sudan was moving towards the West, that is, towards the Western camp, the former Soviet Union and Russia were now saying (Oh, my executioner and my darling).
Today, Russia is nearing the end of its torments, and is getting closer to the “beloved” after a “long absence,” as the artist Salah Mustafa puts it.
