Sennar facing cholera and the challenges of the health sector (1_2) – Safar al -takhi – ✍️ written by: Muhammad al -aqab

In the midst of the challenges of health imposed by current circumstances, the Minister of Health in the State of Sennar, Dr. Ibrahim Al -Awad, was released at a press conference which is the second of its kind, to put the points on letters and public opinion on the reality of health in the state, in particular with regard to the spread of cholera and the efforts of health development. The conference, which attended a certain number of health leaders, reflected the ministry’s commitment to transparency and to solve problems with a sense of responsibility.

Dr. Al -Awad began his speech by emphasizing the nature of cholera as a bacterial disease which is closely linked to the behavior of humans and the surrounding environment. So far he has revealed the recording of (104) cases of illness in the state, with great regret to record (7) deaths, (13) cases receive treatment at the insulation center in Sennar and a case with Sinja isolation Center. These figures, although painfully, reflect the transparency of the ministry in the treatment of the crisis and the need to have facts for citizens. The first recorded cases took place on May 22, coming from the state of Al-Jazeera, which confirms the importance of the coordination and consciousness of population movements in the fight against the propagation of the epidemic.

The ministry’s efforts not only monitored cases, but also extended to include preventive and urgent treatment plans. The Minister announced a complete vaccination campaign for citizens who will be launched immediately after the Bénie Eid Al -Dha, on the basis of positive samples which allow the vaccination of all state residents. This is a decisive step to contain the disease and reduce its spread. He also underlined the importance of early intervention in the treatment of suspicious cases, calling on citizens to accelerate the ambulance of the wounded and to give a glucose solution as an initial ambulance to save lives from her house.

Improve infrastructure despite the difficulties

The conference has not lost sight of the development of health establishments, which is a maximum priority for the ministry. Dr. Al -Awad explained that many inspection tours have taken place to strengthen health and administrative managers. He praised the efforts of the company and the partners of oxygen manufacturers in Sennar and Sinja, stressing that they represent a lifestyle for patients. But he expressed his deep regret for damage to vital devices such as MRI and CT scan as a result of recent interventions, considering the losses of approximately (110) thousand dollars to repair the resonance device in Sanja, while the Ministry of Finance intervened (30) billion Sudanese pounds to maintain the senary device. These figures highlight the size of the material challenge with which the ministry is faced in current circumstances.

In a decision to ensure transparency and solid management, the Minister announced the existence of independent accounts for oxygen manufacturers of the Sennar and Sinja hospital, and to allocate clear proportions for the distribution of income, which guarantees the sustainability of developing health services. He also strongly criticized some of the private institutions that took advantage of the patient’s oxygen need, stressing that the ministry will provide free oxygen to hospitals with their own production units.

Continuous care and continuous efforts

Despite all the difficulties, the work wheel in the health sector has not stopped. Dr. Al -Awad praised the enormous efforts made in the last period, stressing the major services that certain medical executives were provided in the light of the attack. He also underlined the continuation of dialysis services for certain patients with Al-Jazeera state at the Sennar hospital and the opening of a new Dandar dialysis center. These efforts reflect the insistence of health executives to provide the necessary care for citizens.

In the context of improving capacity, the minister announced the arrival of (4) dialysis machines for the Sennar hospital and the reception of (3) modern ambulances equipped with a global GPS system (GPS), which will soon be in the state. He also underlined the ministry’s effort to develop intensive care services and nurseries and the opening of new units, which is an important step to provide specialized services to citizens.

A strategic vision for a better healthy future

For his part, the director of the General Department of Planning of the Ministry of Health, Mohamed Hassan Al -Badri, presented a complete recovery plan for the health sector, focusing on the confrontation of epidemics, affecting hospitals and improving the level of services. He called on the media to draw information from his official sources and to contribute to the spread of health awareness.

Fatima Mohamed Abdel Halim also stressed the importance of water and sanitation projects to reduce drug spending, noting clear pollution in certain water sources in houses. It partially reduced the (320) health units after the collapse of (395) units, with a plan to establish health units in the villages that lack health centers.

The director of therapeutic medicine, Dr. Mazahir Abu Jaj, that (39) hospitals are currently working, with gynecologists and obstetricians in all hospitals, and underlined the need to provide medical executives due to immigration.

The director of the laboratory department, Dr. Ajeeb Abdel Rahman, has provided an explanation of laboratory efforts to examine routine diseases, and stressed that for the first time, precise cholera samples are taken at the time, and that the reports confirm the existence of malaria and a workshop to form frames were organized on the precise microscopic exam. He explained the stability of the service in blood banks and the reception of the Sinja hospital, plasma and the complete blood separation device (134) million Sudanese pounds, which is an important device in the treatment of diagnosis and treatment of snake bites, and a similar device will be provided to Sennar Hospital soon. He pointed out that the laboratories needed rehabilitation and that there is a shortage of executives at the level of the State, in particular in the field of laboratories.

The conference ended with a speech by Muhammad Taj Al -Din Hussein, director of the General Ministry of Health, who stressed that epidemics cost a lot of health system and that the most important emergency axis is coordination. He also thanked and appreciated the Aoun humanitarian committee for superior coordination with the ministry.

The Minister of Health’s press conference in the state of Sennar was a clear message: there is no room to relax in the challenges of health. The efforts are combined, the plans are placed and the infrastructure is reinforced, all with a single objective: better health for the citizens of Sennar.
