Shendi: Electricity returns to Hajar al-Asal and Basabir regions

Electricity returned today, Monday, to many areas in southern Shendi, including Al-Musikatab South, Juhr Al-Asal, Al-Sheikh, Al-Basabir, Al-Milaha, Banga and Al-Otib, after a ten-day interruption following the fall of 36 anticyclonic columns in each of the areas of Banga, Basabir and Al-Malah following the rain and wind that recently hit these areas.

The Electricity Department has made great efforts to repair the poles, in addition to 15 low pressure poles inside the villages.

The Executive Director of Shendi Locality, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar Al-Sheikh, praised the efforts made by the Electricity Department to repair the poles and restore the electricity supply as soon as possible. He said that the electricity workers presented a good model to complete the work in a short time, which confirms the efficiency and great determination of the electricians.

Engineer Hisham Al-Wasila, director of the maintenance department of Shendi Electricity, said that the recent rains and floods that hit areas south of Shendi affected many poles. He explained that 8 transformers were installed after being burned due to the rain.
