Shendi: Implementing waste transportation using the Tahlil method
Shindi locality has come up with new ideas to transport waste from the neighborhoods to medium and large landfills. The idea is based on providing the phone numbers of the workers of the trucks spread across the neighborhoods and city squares to transport the waste and contacting them in case of a need to travel.
Ghada Burhan, director of waste management of Shindi locality, said the idea is to call housewives on specific taxi numbers in special cases where waste generation increases inside homes, especially during weddings, parties and other social events.
Burhan showed that the implementation of such special cases in waste transportation does not affect periodic transportation operations in all districts.
On the contrary, it could significantly reduce the pressure on daily work.
Ghada Al-Burhan indicated that the process of monitoring and closely following up the work of tractors enables waste management to carry out its tasks well.
