Sovereignty Council Member Lt. Gen. Rukn Kabashi Meets Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan
Member of the Sovereignty Council and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Shams al-Din Kabbashi, met today with Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan, Hani Salah. The meeting focused on the conditions the country is witnessing, opportunities and areas of joint cooperation, as well as coordination aspects in the water file.
The sovereign member provided a detailed explanation of the position of the Sudanese government regarding the Geneva negotiations, the Jeddah platform and all avenues that would contribute to the stability, security and unity of Sudan.
The member of the Sovereignty Council conveyed the greetings of the Sudanese leadership to the Egyptian government and people.
For his part, the Egyptian ambassador to Sudan expressed in a press statement after the meeting his thanks and appreciation to the Sudanese government and people. He stressed his country's determination to continue supporting the Sudanese government to achieve security, stability and peace, noting the continued support of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for all initiatives that can lead to stopping the war in Sudan.
The Egyptian ambassador added that the meeting discussed a number of projects implemented by Egypt in Sudan, such as the electricity interconnection project and the development of the Wadi Halfa river port.
Ambassador Hani to Sudan also expressed his thanks to the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its support for the Egyptian candidate for the post of UNESCO Director-General.
