Sovereignty Council President Attends Signing of Agreements in Solar Energy, Mining, Transmission Lines

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, testified today in Beijing, on the sidelines of his participation in the China-Africa Forum, and witnessed the signing of agreements in the fields of solar energy, mining and transmission lines. This was in the presence of the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Engineer Muhyiddin Naeem Muhammad Saeed, the Sudanese Ambassador to Beijing, Ambassador Omar Siddiq, and the Director General of the Defense Industries System, Lieutenant General Mirghani Idris.

Engineer Anas Ahmed Al-Badawi, CEO of Energy and Mines Group, said that a number of memoranda of understanding and contracts had been signed with Chinese companies.

Indicating that these works are part of bridging the gap in the energy sector, he added that there is a trend towards clean energy and solar energy, indicating that these contracts would contribute to the production of 1,500 megawatts of solar energy, in addition to seeking to use electrical equipment powered by solar energy to reduce electricity waste.

He said that agreements had also been signed with electricity companies in China to repair transmission lines and provide the necessary equipment and transformers to facilitate the transfer of electricity from production areas to consumption areas. Engineer Anas said that memoranda of understanding had been signed in the mining sector to extract precious metals through strategic partnerships with Chinese institutions, where the focus was on iron ore, given that Sudan is rich in this mineral.

For his part, Wan Oziho, chairman of the ccccG enterprise group, explained that these agreements with Sudan reinforce the principle of strategic partnership between China and Sudan.

Stressing that the value of these agreements amounts to 30 million dollars, he expressed his hope that these agreements would herald good news for the Sudanese economy, noting the diplomatic relations established between Beijing and Khartoum.

The President of the Sovereign Council had fruitful and fruitful meetings with the leaders of several Chinese companies operating in the fields of oil, solar energy and electricity, which resulted today in the signing of these agreements.
