Sovereignty Council President meets Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister

Ambassador Ali Youssef explained in a press release that the meeting focused on bilateral relations between Sudan and Turkey and areas of joint cooperation, indicating that the meeting also focused on the Turkish initiative that the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented to the President of the Sovereignty Council. .

Stressing that the initiative is part of achieving peace in Sudan, stressing that the President of the Sovereignty Council welcomed this initiative and asked the Turkish minister to convey this welcome to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the minister Turkish Foreign Affairs, which is responsible for the details of the management of this initiative.

Ambassador Ali Youssef said that the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister held several meetings during his visit with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Economic Planning, indicating that this visit is an important visit that has carried the aspirations of the Turkish government and people towards Sudan and its country. people.

The Foreign Minister said that these meetings focused on the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that the Turkish minister said that his country was in the process of opening a Turkish bank in Port Sudan to contribute to strengthening and to strengthening common trade relations, in addition to opening a headquarters for the Turkish Aid Organization, which deals with providing development assistance and humanitarian aid in various countries around the world.

He revealed that there were 3 ships carrying thousands of tons of humanitarian aid to Sudan.

The Foreign Minister said that this visit of the Turkish minister will have the following implications for strengthening relations between Sudan and Turkey.

Stressing that the Turkish initiative could lead to real efforts to achieve peace in Sudan.

For his part, the Turkish President's envoy expressed his joy at visiting Sudan, noting that he had meetings with the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Economic Planning. He said his country was making great efforts to achieve peace and stability in Sudan, indicating that Turkey's approach to ending the war in Sudan was clear, thanks to the distinguished relations between the two countries.

He added that what his country is doing is a process that requires concerted efforts and then work to bring together regional actors and overcome the difficulties associated with ending the conflict in Sudan.

He added that the presence of the Turkish embassy in Sudan since the start of the war and its work in Port Sudan demonstrate Turkey's determination to stand with Sudan and its people.

The Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister explained that the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) is currently working on reopening its offices in Port Sudan, in addition to opening a branch of the Turkish Agricultural Bank.

He highlighted the contributions of Turkish governmental and non-governmental relief agencies in providing humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people. In addition to maintaining the Nyala Turkish Hospital, which is currently operating and providing its services to citizens.

The minister revealed that 3 Turkish ships arrived in Port Sudan carrying 8,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid.
