During his meeting today in his office in Port Sudan, Russian Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, provided a comprehensive overview of the situation in Sudan, developments on the ground, the current crisis and its impact on the regional and international environment.

Regarding the proposed initiatives, His Excellency stressed that Russia's role and movements in Africa and the Middle East as well as its broad relations with countries and leaders allow it to consult all parties on existing initiatives, starting through Jeddah through IGAD, and to clarify their lack of success in resolving the current crisis.

For his part, Russia's special envoy to the Middle East and Africa highlighted in a press release the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries, their deep-rooted history and their common cooperation in various fields, estimating in need to promote and develop these relationships and push them towards broader horizons.

Bogdanov stressed that Russia deals with the Transitional Sovereignty Council and the Port Sudan government as the legitimate representative of the Sudanese people in international relations.

His Excellency indicated that the Russian Embassy normally carries out its work through its ambassador in Port Sudan and in return, the Sudanese Ambassador in Moscow carries out its work.

Bogdanov stressed the importance of this meeting to strengthen consultations and cooperation between the two countries and develop aspects of joint cooperation, especially since the Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council participated in two summits in Russia representing Sudan and met with Russian leaders to advance bilateral relations. between the two countries.

Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, explained in a press release that the meeting discussed the importance of consulting the sister countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council in individual and the Arab countries to find an agreement. an outcome and solutions that preserve the dignity of the Sudanese people and contribute to stability and peace in Sudan.
