As part of its ongoing efforts to protect the health of consumers and ensure the quality of products marketed in the local market, the Sudanese Authority for Standards and Metrology in the Red Sea sector destroyed about 7 tons of expired and non-compliant food products under the direct supervision of Eng. Al-Tijani Bashir Taha, Director of the Authority's Red Sea Sector, confirmed Eng. Al-Tijani said that this campaign stems from concern for food safety and protecting consumers from spoiled and harmful products. For his part, Dr. explained. Amal Al-Saudi, head of the department of industrial inspection and services in the sector, said that the extermination was the result of intensive campaigns that involved many service and commercial establishments in the markets, during which large quantities of expired and non-compliant food products were seized, specifying that the control campaigns continue throughout the year as part of its plan to strengthen control in the markets. Confirmed Dr. Amal stressed the importance of the role of the citizen in reporting any offense related to goods that do not comply with specifications.
