Sudan and Russia seek to extend partnership in the mining sector

The Minister of Mineraux, Nour Permanent Taha, held a meeting at the headquarters of the ministry with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Russia to Sudan André Cernovol, dealing with prospects for strengthening strategic relations between the two countries by emphasizing cooperation opportunities in the mine sector.
The two parties discussed the ways to advance the work of the Sudanese ministerial committee -Russian for commercial and economic cooperation, in which the Sudanese Minister directs the Sudanese side in a manner which contributes to the development of investment partnerships and to an increase in joint projects.
The Russian ambassador praised the sustainability of economic relations between Khartoum and Moscow, stressing that Russian investments in Sudan, in particular in the field of mining, are among the most successful investment experiences, pointing the central role of Russian companies working in the exploration and production of minerals.
This meeting comes at a time when Sudan seeks to extend the basis of its international partners in the energy and mines sectors, while Russia continues to improve its economic presence on the African continent as part of its strategy to guarantee energy and mineral resources.
