Sudan Liberation Movement Transitional Council, led by Salah Rasas, denies links to Atbara Hospital incident, confirms Nile State is devoid of its members – statement

The Sudan Liberation Movement/Army – Transitional Council follows with regret what has been reported by some media outlets about the occurrence of unfortunate events in Nile State, which have been falsely and slanderously attributed to our members.
The movement wishes to confirm to public opinion the following:
1. The movement has no near or distant connection with what happened in Nile State, and we have no military force or activity in this region.
2. We do not have identity cards or documents in circulation for the military forces, as was common during these events, and any party that claims to belong to the movement and issues cards in its name practices forgery and plagiarism.
3. The movement affirms its full attachment to its clear political and military line, based on discipline, respect for the rights of citizens and distancing itself from any practice which undermines social security or the unity of the country.
4. The movement calls on official agencies and media to be accurate in transmitting information and avoid spreading rumors that harm the movement and its national progress.
In conclusion, the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army – Transitional Council confirms that it will take necessary legal measures against anyone who insults it or uses its name in activities not related to it.
