It is clear that Sudan has moved to a new stage in its relations with the African Union and its security and peace organizations, and perhaps even with all its organizations that have remained absent from Sudanese affairs over the past past periods. the difficult circumstances that the Sudanese government experienced while preserving the entity of the state before and after the war. It started yesterday. The African Peace and Security Council visited Sudan, the first since the outbreak of war in Sudan, as a high-level delegation. arrived in Port Sudan led by Ambassador Mohamed Gad, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Ethiopia, Permanent Representative to the African Union, Rotating Chairman of the Peace and Security Council. The visit allowed us to examine numerous files, the most important of which is that of staffing. file The war and the restoration of security and peace in Sudan following the war started by the rebels of the Rapid Support Forces following the failed coup d'état supported by regional powers with the political support of some forces of the Sudanese party, through which they attempted to take power. and reorganize the Sudanese scene according to regional and international ambitions. The delegation whose visit arrived late for the country, according to observers, at the beginning of its meetings met with President Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, who expressed a strict attitude. He said that the position of the African Union and its organizations through what he hoped for during this crisis that the Sudanese are going through, the preliminaries of which were known, described as unfair the description by the Union Africa of what happened on October 25. This is correct and contradicts the facts. He also assured them that what Sudan has been subjected to represents a new colonialism. He added that the African Union's ignorance of the crisis facing the Sudanese people results from its lack of knowledge of the truth. He indicated that part of the country is occupied by a rebel militia with the participation of foreign mercenaries and the help of countries it knows. Everyone pointed out that rebel forces attacked safe towns, violated the sanctity of citizens and looted. their property and the women raped, indicating that the whole world witnessed this and did not lift a finger. Al-Burhan affirmed during the meeting his refusal to control Sudan by foreign parties who use rebel forces in their war against the country. of the Sovereign Council said that there is a political force that wants to return to power in any way before citizens return to their homes and areas occupied by rebel militias.) President Al-Burhan's speech with the delegation was clear and transparent, during which he conveyed the vision and description of the government's war, which must be respected by the African Organization, as stated by Ambassador Mohamed Gad, head of the delegation, in a statement to the journalist: This is the first visit of the Peace and Security Council to Sudan. for several years, indicating that Egypt has wished, since the start of its presidency of the Council last April, to make this visit. He said the clarifications provided by the President of the Sovereignty Council to the African delegation of the Peace and Security Council contributed to this achievement. understand the dimensions of the Sudanese crisis, indicating that the delegation affirmed its support for brotherly Sudan until peace is established in the country. She added that Egypt is always concerned about the need for Sudan to emerge from this crisis. on the need to create the necessary environment for Sudan to regain its membership in the African Union. He added that Sudan cannot go through such a crisis. Its membership in the African Union will be frozen. African Union is a good speech that needs to be implemented, and it is considered a successful reading of the current reality that demands that Sudan enjoy full membership in the African Union. It is a right that must be taken into account in its progression towards the African Union. restore security, peace and preserve the entity of the Sudanese State. Furthermore, during his speech, Ambassador Mohamed Gad stressed that the African Peace and Security Council will seek to bring peace to Sudan, a ceasefire and support facilitating the arrival of humanitarian aid . to the Sudanese people. It is clear that the African Peace and Security Council, during this visit to the country, came with an open heart and a sincere desire to listen to the views of the Sudanese leaders and their reservations on a number of points . of positions related to the need to treat Sudan as a pioneer country among the founders of the African Union and to learn the limits of transactions that strengthen national sovereignty and respect and preserve the laws of the organization. In the same context, Ambassador Al-Zein Ibrahim. Hussein, Ambassador of Sudan to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, in a press statement we heard, said that the visit of the African Peace and Security Council gains importance as it is the first visit since 2015 AD, and it indicates a new positive link of the African Union with Sudan after the suspension of its membership on October 26, 2021 after the corrective measures linked to the dissolution of the partnership with the civil component, emphasizing that the Council delegation listened to a detailed explanation from the African Union. President of the Sovereign Council on various military, security, political and humanitarian issues, noting that the delegation held important meetings with a number of state officials, which constituted an opportunity to become aware of the overall situation in Sudan and allowed the delegation to obtain information on the reality of the crisis., explained Ambassador Al-Zein said that the Arab Republic of Egypt chairs the current session of the African Peace and Security Council, indicating that the delegation included the Commissioner for Peace, Security and Political Affairs and the African Union delegate to Sudan, Ambassador Mohamed Belaish, indicated that this visit will constitute a road map to re-engage Sudan with the African Union. It is clear that the visit could adopt a recommendation on the importance of disengaging frozen Sudan from the African Union. Union, in addition to perhaps agreeing on a first road map relating to the role of the organization during the next stage to restore security and achieve peace for the Sudanese. It should be noted that the entire meeting with the delegation was devoid of any reference to the implementation of the agreement. The Jeddah agreement on security and humanitarian arrangements signed on May 11 last year is seen by observers as an indication of the near end of the ground operation that the army began in recent days to regain control and impose peace on the rebels. The delegation also held in-depth meetings with officials of the Council of Ministers in the presence of Lieutenant General, Maritime Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, who expressed reservations over the negative positions of some African countries and their silence on what is happening in Sudan. ? Furthermore, during the meeting, Attorney General Al-Fatih Tayfour discussed a number of files related to the current crisis and the humanitarian practices carried out by the Rapid Support Forces rebels. The Council delegation affirmed its solidarity with the Sudanese people and its support for the Sudanese State. It should be noted that before the delegation's arrival in Port Sudan, Ambassador Mohamed Gad spoke (in Al-Sharq) about the importance of the visit and its timing, as well as its coordination with the African Union and its knowledge of the Sudanese situation. as well as statements by the US Special Envoy to Sudan, Tom Perriello, in which he revealed the opening of communication channels with the African Union regarding the preparation and equipment of intervention forces aimed at protecting civilians in Sudan. He said Egypt's position was respected. is clear in this regard, since he completely rejects this proposition by saying: “This proposition is not new.” On the sidelines of the sessions of the United Nations General Assembly on September 25, some Western countries called for a meeting on Sudan, and a meeting was held and a proposal for an agreement was made on Sudan, which been categorically rejected by Egypt and other countries. The African countries concerned. This clear position on the importance of the visit, its timing and its rejection. The conclusive allegations of the intervention of international forces in Sudan to protect civilians, and the firm conviction of the importance of Sudan regaining its membership in the African Union, gives new hope to the African Union and the Council African Union of peace and security, as the Government of Sudan and the entire Sudanese people look forward to an active and constructive role from the African Union and its organizations in helping Sudan overcome the crisis and restore security and peace for the Sudanese. This is the face of truth that we must all support and that the new phase must begin in Sudan. In light of this, the African Union must review all its calculations in Sudan based on the new reality. which the Sudanese were able to return to their state after the kidnapping.
