Sudan War Enters New Phase – The Face of Truth – ✍️ Ibrahim Shaqlawi
We started our previous article with optimism… caution after reading many testimonies from the political world and some leaks. We hoped that the discussions between the delegations of the Sudanese government and the United States of America in Jeddah would lead to positive results. results that would help the government respond to the Geneva platform to end the war… However, the Minister of Information, Graham Abdelkader, revealed in a statement on Sudanese television that Sudan would not participate in the Geneva negotiations for a number of reasons, the most important of which is… the failure of the American side to implement the decisions of Jeddah in May 2023… and the insistence of the American side on the participation of the United Arab Emirates as an observer, which is rejected by the government of Sudan, which The Security Council responded to the request for a session to discuss its involvement in financing the war for the benefit of the rebellion. He also failed to clarify a convincing justification for the creation of a new platform other than Jeddah. The army has reached a binding agreement with the rebel rapid support forces to evacuate civilian property and citizens' homes and open safe routes for humanitarian aid… Unfortunately, this reality is supported by major disagreements within Sudan, between the political parties. In Sudan, they are still trying to invest in the war and gain political benefits from it… which has created a very complex reality for achieving peace… which makes it difficult to spare the country the possibility of confrontation with the international community… which has clearly begun to move towards a comprehensive peace process that does not go beyond the rebel rapid support forces and their supporters in coordinating progress, which represents an original part in the outbreak of the war that broke out on April 15 of last year… following the failed coup attempt by these rebel forces. Despite this, they have managed to coordinate. In one way or another, this presents itself to the international community as a symbol of a civilian government, relying on a political system. balance between suspicious and greedy relations … and support from a hidden party to the coup itself … and the proof is the misleading description with which the war was described as between two generals … and the obvious bias in favor of the rebellion, which thwarted all attempts. The government condemned it and called it a militia, despite international condemnation from a number of regional and international organizations. On the other hand, there is an apparent absence of national political parties and entities supporting the army at the regional and international level. on the international stage. This absence has put great pressure on it and its political project, as well as on the army in its war against the rebellion. Because these forces have failed to present themselves properly to the international community to serve the national cause, despite the difficulties. presence of influential and effective leaders in their ranks who have a good balance between experience and external relations. There is also an absence of the Islamic movement supporting the army on the international stage. It has not benefited so far from its external relations, as expected, because it could have used them to support the army more effectively. However, it has started cautiously and cautiously in order to close the door to accusations linking it to the outbreak of the war. internal push by mobilizing its youth and the Sudanese youth to defend the country in the face of the widespread violations that are being carried out by the rebellion against civilians in a number of Sudanese villages and cities. from the regional and international environment, they will tell you that they are not listening to us because they know deep down that we are not part of their project to dismantle the country and control its decisions. So we have to look for someone who listens. you… There are… those who believe in non-interference in the internal affairs of countries and peoples… and know how to exchange benefits and interests for the benefit of all… This imbalance in external influence between the two groups, which must be corrected today before tomorrow… Putting pressure This is significant for the Sudanese Armed Forces… and makes it appear isolated from the outside, because external political communication is essentially at the heart of the role of the Sudanese Armed Forces. political parties that represent the national incubator of the army in this difficult stage… On the other hand, observers described it… as a preparation for the next stage, and in an important development, a member of the Sovereignty Council met. The Commander-in-Chief, Naval Engineer Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber, with the ambassadors of Russia, China and Qatar, affirmed during the meeting the government's adherence to the Jeddah Agreement signed on May 11, 2023 and the need to implement this agreement. He gave them a detailed explanation of the situation in Sudan and the efforts made by the Sudanese government to bring peace and stability to the country. He also pointed out that the government had recently received an invitation from the US Secretary of State to participate in the peace negotiations in Geneva. He presented Sudan's vision for resuming negotiations that would lead to peace… and confirmed the efforts that have been made to facilitate the work of international organizations that provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by the war… particularly with regard to entry visas, opening of crossings, transit permits and customs… As a result, observers believe that it has become important for political and military action to be in harmony with mass mobilization to support the government. options calling for adherence to the Jeddah Agreement as an entry point for establishing peace… and to change the concept of de facto authority that some seek to establish… and for the political scene not to be more complicated than it is. .. there are also important steps that must be taken… since power now belongs to the army, which finds broad popular support. Why does it not proceed to appoint a stable government instead of the one appointed, based on this support? At least it can fill the political vacuum… and advance in its relations with the international community… and this will be one of the most important steps the country can take to face the next phase in which the efforts of those who support the rebellion to impose a new reality are active. Using the stick of the international community, serious thought must also be given to developing the Jeddah platform by adding new supporters from brotherly and friendly countries that believe in the importance of peace in Sudan without diktats. The government must also strive to consolidate its position through possible and unconditional regional and international alliances that have sometimes remained favorable to Sudan, a precedent represented by Russia, China, Iran, Turkey and Qatar. also be reconsidered, starting with the method of mediating the war, which requires the involvement of all by translating the slogan “One Army, One People” into a practical reality by mobilizing all sectors of society… and ending with the tactics that make the difference. If Khartoum, Madani, Sinjah or any of the Darfur states are liberated, it will change the equation between imposing control, negotiating and bringing peace. These are the options available for a possible confrontation with the international community. facing all the challenges aimed at imposing control and imposing ready-made solutions according to the supporters of the rebellion… This therefore remains the face of the truth that can hasten the end of the war as long as the government of Sudan chooses it. this difficult path that requires firmness and the unification of the internal front… and the preparation of public opinion for a war that can be prolonged… and this represents the entry of the war into a new phase.
May you always be well..
