Sudan welcomes African Peace and Security Council statement, supports its priorities
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement in which it welcomed the directives of the African Peace and Security Council issued on October 9, 2024. The government affirmed its full agreement with the priorities set out in the statement, particularly with regard to the implementation of the Jeddah agreement. Declaration, evacuate citizens' homes and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid. The ministry also strongly condemned the siege of the city of El Fasher by the rapid support militias and denounced the violations committed against civilians.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that Sudan appreciates the Council's reception of the road map presented by the government to resolve the crisis, and expresses gratitude for the continued positive support of the African Union in reopening its office in Port Sudan. The government also affirmed its commitment to constructive cooperation with the African Union to promote African solutions to African problems.

In a statement issued today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government of Sudan welcomed what was stated in the African Peace and Security Council declaration dated October 9, 2024. The Government affirmed its agreement with constructive directions and proposals, in particular with regard to the implementation of the Jeddah Declaration, the lifting of the siege of El Fasher and the condemnation of the violations committed by the Rapid Support Militia against civilians.
The government also expressed appreciation for the decision of the African Union to reopen its office in Port Sudan, affirming its commitment to fully cooperate with the African Organization to support African solutions to local problems. The government has called on African Union institutions to double their assistance to Sudan, welcoming the recent visit of the Council delegation to Sudan.
