Sudanese Ambassador to Cairo Discusses Cooperation with UN with UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt

Lieutenant General Imad al-Din Mustafa Adawy, Ambassador of Sudan to the Arab Republic of Egypt, discussed with Ms. Elena Panova, United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Arab Republic of Egypt, ways to strengthen cooperation between Sudan and the United Nations and ways to push it to include all desired aspects.

This came during his visit to the United Nations headquarters in Cairo today, accompanied by Dr. Abdel-Rahman Sidahmad, Secretary General of the Regulatory Authority for the Affairs of Sudanese Abroad.

Ambassador Adawi praised what the United Nations and its specialized agencies have provided to Sudan in general through its development projects and programs, noting the great role that the United Nations can play in improving health, social welfare and education services for the Sudanese in general and for the Sudanese state in the reconstruction phase.

For her part, Ms. Elena Panova – United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Arab Republic of Egypt, expressed her solidarity with the Sudanese people for the humanitarian conditions in which they live after the war, highlighting the efforts made by the United Nations in this regard, in particular the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), and promised to lead The twenty-eight United Nations organizations she supervises prioritize the issues of the Sudanese in Egypt, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Food Programme (WFP) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), noting the importance of holding a series of meetings between the embassy and the offices of the United Nations organizations in Cairo to discuss ways to improve the humanitarian response and support all sectors of the Sudanese state.
