Sudanese Banking Union – important statement

The Central Bank of Sudan announced the start of the process of exchanging currencies in denominations of one thousand five hundred pounds through bank accounts, from Tuesday, December 10 until December 23. This is the case in Nile, Northern, Red Sea, Gedaref, Kassala and Blue Nile states. Besides the towns of Rabak and Kosti in White Nile State and the town of Sennar in Sennar State. The limit for daily withdrawals from bank counters has been set at two hundred thousand pounds. With respect to non-replacement states, bank branches do not receive deposits in currencies of the replacement categories because the pre-exchange currency of one thousand five hundred pounds is considered valid in the hands of the public until further notice.
Accordingly, the Banking Union calls on citizens of the above-mentioned states and cities to immediately visit bank branches to deposit the targeted groups for replacement. All bank branches in these states being ready to receive citizens with bank accounts for immediate deposits into their accounts. As for those who do not have an account, banks will open accounts for them and receive their deposits.
