The Director General of the Red Sea Health Sector inspects the areas and those affected by torrents and rains in the locality of Tokar, accompanied by the Emergency Technical Committee.
Today, the Director General of the Health Sector in Red Sea State, Dr. Ahlam Abdel Rasoul, inspected the areas affected by torrents and rains in Tokar locality in Red Sea State.
Accompanied by the Director of the General Administration of Basic Health Care, Dr. Muhammad Abdel Qader, the Director of the General Administration of Emergencies and Epidemic Control, Fatima Muhammad Othman, the Technical Committee for Health Emergencies and the General and Specialized Departments.
This is in response to the current emergency health situation due to the rains and torrential downpours observed in the region.
The delegation examined the extent of damage and losses to which citizens and property were exposed in the locality, learned about the epidemiological situation in environmental health, delivered a number of essential emergency medicines, sterilizers and preventive devices, and provided medical care and health personnel in response to cases that may result from the effects of rain, torrential rains and flooding of Khor Baraka.
Dr. Ahlam confirmed that the state government and the ministry are committed to maintaining the stability of the epidemiological situation, combating epidemics and disease vectors in the locality, and instructing the emergency management, response and disease surveillance teams to exert more efforts to work in all affected areas in Tokar locality.
During the visit, an enlightening meeting was held with a number of community leaders in the presence of the Chief of the Habab tribes, Hamid Mahmoud Kentibai, and the extent of the damage to property, families and lives was discussed.
