The General Administration of Moral Guidance of Bamdurman University of Technology organized a workshop entitled Media and National Security within the framework of the activities of the First Strategic Forum, in cooperation with the Military Research and Studies Center and the Center from Sovilara media. Honored by Mr. Ahmed Othman Hamza, the Governor of Khartoum, in the presence of several leaders of the security and military services and a group of media personalities and experts in their different specialties.
The General Staff welcomed Dr. Mamoun Abdel Raouf Muhammad Saleh, Director of the General Department of Moral Guidance, speaking about the importance of the forum and what he hopes to draw for the media that will elevate them to play a major role in this area. important milestone in Sudan's history, highlighting the challenges ahead in light of the war, Sudan's strategic situation and international ambitions.
Three working papers were presented during the forum, the first titled: Media and National Security, presented by Major General Saad Hassan Fadl Al-Amin, followed by Major General Abu Bakr Issa Al-Nur, Director of the Academy Numeiri's senior military officer, and the session was moderated by Major General Dr. Suleiman Haj Makki. The document included several important axes and recommendations for the advancement of the media wheel.
The second document was also titled The Roles of Military Media in Combat Zones. The document was presented by Staff Colonel Dr. Ahmed Youssef Al-Nur, and Director of the Martyr Military Media Center Othman Makkawi commented Mr. Ibrahim Bashir. and the discussion was moderated by General Staff Aboud Jamal Abdullah. The document discussed the importance of the role of the media and its duties. In times of peace and war, it is necessary to control the flow of information so that it does not harm. the conduct of operations.
The audience also heard an intervention by the official spokesperson of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah Ali, in which he explained the mechanism by which information is processed according to the requirements of the course of operations and explained the coordination process with the armed forces. General administration of moral guidance, represented by military media and official state media, and coordination with sovereign ministries on all issues as well as the method of issuing press releases and circulars to enlighten opinion public if necessary.
The third and final document was entitled What is required of the media in light of the current situation. The paper was presented by Dr. Badr al-Din Idris, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication at the International University of Africa, and was commented on. by veteran journalist Dr. Al-Nour Jadin, Faculty of Mass Communication, Mashreq University. The newspaper's supervisor was headed by Major General Dr. Al-Amin Youssef Ibrahim, where the newspaper focused on the importance of activating the newspaper. media with all their specializations to serve the pivotal stage in the life of the country as it wages the battle for dignity, and for the media to play its role in a professional, specialized and institutional manner that addresses all issues in accordance with a methodology that governs media performance with Commitment to laws and professional ethics, especially those that threaten national security, focusing on development issues, rejecting hate speech and harmful rumors, increasing sentiment safety, awareness, guidance and direction in all areas.
At the end of the meeting, Ms. Ensaf Abdullah Suleiman, Director of Sovilara Media Center, said that the next step requires concerted efforts and teamwork to support the battle and activate media work so that it can fully fulfill his duty.
In general, the articles were useful and found acceptance and interaction from all.
The workshop aimed to refute rumors, military media and psychological warfare, and unify media discourse. It concluded with valuable recommendations that we hope will emerge to raise the profile of media and military media.
