The health sector is considered one of the important and strategic sectors of the country in times of peace and war, as it is directly linked to the lives of citizens by providing care in hospitals and health centers and in ensuring medication safety through medical supplies.
Through this war, the health sector became one of the targeted sectors, and the violations committed by the Rapid Support Militia became clearly visible. Health centers and hospitals in the capital and states have been destroyed, transformed into military housing, in blatant disregard of international law. As a result of these violations of the health sector, a large number of executives working in this strategic sector, who worked in difficult conditions amidst militias targeting them and bullets flying above their heads, were martyred. .
Added to this is the number of patients who died following the destruction of medical equipment and devices and the lack of life-saving medicines.
Since the outbreak of this war, the National Medical Supplies Fund, one of the tributaries of the Federal Ministry of Health, has been targeted. The rapid support militias invaded the Khartoum site, burned its stores, looted the medicines in the stores and destroyed much of its offices, furniture, equipment and appliances, causing losses amounting to $600 million, according to statements by the Federal Minister of Health in the platform Sona Al-Douri.
But one of the advantages and positive points is that the Fund has established its branches in the states (formerly the Rotary Medicine Department), which were established by the late Dr. Mandour Al-Mahdi when he took over as director of this establishment during this period. , and who have now played an effective role during this cursed war by providing medicines and medical supplies to the various state facilities, helping to bridge the country's pharmaceutical deficit.
As a public sector, medical supplies are considered the only recourse for citizens to purchase their medicines, as they provide them at affordable prices considering the incredibly high prices of medicines, especially for chronic illnesses that require constant treatment and which are provided by medical supplies in pharmacies in the capital and states.
Despite the deliberate sabotage that medical supplies faced during the war launched by the Rapid Support Militia and its mercenaries, which resulted in heavy losses, this did not deter his determination to continue his efforts and his pioneering role in the serving citizens by providing medicines and medical equipment. in the difficult conditions of this war which targeted the health sector and its tributaries.
