The Launch of the State of Somalia After Ending This Damn Civil War ✍️ Professor: Fikri Kabashi, Al-Amin Al-Arabi
The Somali state emerged from the circle of chaos by electing President Hussein Sheikh Mohamud to take power from Farmaajo, who carried out many projects that began to change the face of the state, including paying off the World Bank debt and beginning to implement a comprehensive strategic plan. Thus, the Somali state emerged from the cloak of war and destruction and after the specter of “Somaliization” became a common example in the random armed civil conflict… Thus, the State of Somalia is one of the modern examples of African countries in their commitment to institutionalism and democratic and peaceful transfer of power, relying on popular delegation through free and direct elections, Somalia achieves its first surplus of $17 billion and is ahead of 43 countries in the world in terms of growth. Today, Somalia triumphs over itself, as the Somali president achieves the first surplus in 33 years. His country's reserves stand at $17 billion, and it is ahead of 43 countries in the world in terms of growth, less than three years after a 27-year conflict in which a million Somalis died.
President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud was asked: “What did you do that is the secret of your success?” He replied: “We worked with a system of justice and compliance, and I started with myself, I did not appoint any member of my family committee next to me, even though I often needed them, and I paid them from my own salary and not from state funds, in order to help them overcome their difficulties.
We have appointed highly qualified civil servants, even from outside Somalia, and we have placed the public interest at the forefront of our agendas, foremost among them the resolution of tribal conflicts. I am proud that the Somali people are the first people in the world to hire non-Somalis with extraordinary skills in government ministries in high positions.
We did not forget to train Somalis so that they can assume responsibilities in all places in the future, and we paid attention to education and added educational subjects that were not known, such as social culture, tact, methods of dialogue and interaction, civilized ways of life, self-confidence, and all soft and artistic skills.
These programs dealt with issues and topics that are not found in any curriculum in the world, because the Somali person lives and experiences everything. It is the human experience and the product of the peoples that we have extracted and integrated into the scientific and practical programs. The delegation of the State of Sweden and the delegation of South Korea visited us to learn about our experience, research it and translate it.
He also said: I have handed over to the next president, Mohamed Abdullah Farmajo, after my term, all the programs and capabilities that I have, and we have agreed on an action plan for the renaissance of Somalia from which we will not deviate, and we are looking for each new president two years before handing over power to him, so that he is ready to take the lead and be faithful in preserving the nation.
Today I walk alone in Mogadishu, with no one behind me and no one in front of me except God, and no matter who is with God, everyone is safe.
What did you do to the militias that fought for 27 consecutive years?
He said: Form an army according to the law and not by favoritism or by the tribes that have quarreled and those that have not quarreled. This concerns those who have fulfilled the conditions of their sons who applied to join our regular forces, and those who have not fulfilled the conditions, they would be excluded from regular armed action, and we would have a new social fabric that would never have known confrontation, rivalry or meeting. In the rivalry, they do not even know each other, and they have been distributed in positions corresponding to the needs of the state and not according to their personal desires.
We asked to surrender the weapons and were granted an exemption for a full year, after which a ten-year prison sentence would be applied to those who did not comply. Everyone surrendered their weapons. At first there was no trust and. after that, everyone rushed to surrender the weapons.
Since we are a country exposed to secondary threats from neighboring countries, as soon as things are better controlled and social awareness has reached an acceptable level, we will allow the carrying of weapons only for personal protection purposes.
How did you deal with the economy?
We have paid great attention to the development of communications, banking and infrastructure, we have built trust with international banks and we expect our currency to be approved by the next president at the international financial meeting in Switzerland for banking and financial management.
Thanks to God and the efforts of philanthropists, we hope for the return of 2 million Somali refugees to Somalia for permanent settlement in the next 5 years, to bring together a nation of dry and wet mud and then create a state based on law and solidarity. God willing.
He also points out that in 10 years his country will enter the list of 20 industrialized countries, according to reports from the International Center for World Economics.
° The Organization for Transparency places Somalia at 78th place from 203rd
The surplus of Somali revenues outside of what is owed and contracted by the technician of the general budget of the state and what is owed to the private sector is expected to reach 205 to 240 billion dollars. Somalia has achieved its first surplus of 17 billion dollars.
