The Minister of Justice signs a technical cooperation agreement between Sudan and the World Intellectual Property Organization

On the sidelines of the 56th session of the Human Rights Council, His Excellency the Minister of Justice, Dr. Muawiya Othman Muhammad Khair A technical cooperation agreement between the Republic of Sudan and the World Intellectual Property Organization, according to which a digital industrial property management system will be implemented as part of the consultative and technical support that the organization provides to the General Secretariat of Intellectual Property at the Ministry of Justice. The agreement was signed by the organization by Mr. Kenshiro Nasumi, Deputy Director General of the organization.

His Excellency the Minister praised the existing cooperative relations with the organization, expressing Sudan's thanks and appreciation for the advisory and technical support that the organization provided to strengthen the capacities of the National Intellectual Property Secretariat. His Excellency stressed that Sudan attaches great importance to the promotion and protection of intellectual property, convinced of the role it plays in the development of the Sudanese economy, the protection of national assets and the improvement of competitiveness and commercial revenues. It also seeks to strengthen the capacities of institutions concerned with intellectual property. including universities and research centers.

His Excellency the Minister discussed the current situation in the country resulting from the Rapid Support Militia rebellion and its negative repercussions on the creativity and innovation sector, national institutions and infrastructure of the country, expressing the Sudan's aspiration to support the World Intellectual Property Organization. in the reconstruction of this important sector for development and prosperity in the post-war reconstruction phase.
