The Minister of Social Development in Kassala inaugurates the treatment camp for the hearing impaired – Zoll Net

The Minister of Social Development and Deputy Governor of Kassala State, Mr. Omar Othman Adam, inaugurated the therapeutic camp for the hearing impaired, which targets 300 hearing impaired people and is organized by the Kassala Disability Council in cooperation with the Katira organization and the Italian Society of Solidarity with Peoples, with funding from Italian development aid.

The Minister appreciated the efforts of the Council of Persons with Disabilities and partner organizations to support programs and activities for persons with disabilities and to provide hearing aids that help alleviate suffering and enable the hearing impaired to integrate into society, especially children and youth.

He stressed that such initiatives represent an important step towards social inclusion, calling for concerted efforts by authorities and communities to support programs aimed at improving the conditions of persons with disabilities and achieving the desired goals.

For his part, Secretary General of the State Council for Persons with Disabilities, Mr. Al-Safi Muhammad Fadlallah, expressed joy at the launch of the third treatment camp organized annually by the Council, explaining that it aims to reduce the burden of those in need by providing free internal and external hearing aids, in addition to examination and treatment services.

He lauded the state government’s support for programs and activities for persons with disabilities, expressing hope that the camp would help meet the basic needs of the target groups.

In turn, medical engineer Abdullah Farouk Abdullah, representative of the Katira Consulting Organization, explained that the camp is part of a partnership with the Kassala State Council for Persons with Disabilities, and aims to distribute 300 headphones to children aged 7 to 15, to enable them to integrate into the educational process.

He also praised the cooperation of medical staff in making the camp a success, while the representative of the hearing impaired expressed appreciation for the efforts of organizations and philanthropists in providing hearing aids that facilitate communication and community integration.
