The Federal Ministry of Health has received support from the World Health Organization – the Sudan office, which includes drugs and aid to face the cholera epidemic, addressed to four states: Khartoum, Nord, Nil and Sennar, as well as two fully equipped ambulances.
The authorized agent inaugurated, d. ESMAT Mustafa, and the representative of the World Health Organization, today, on Sunday, the reception of the subsidy before the buildings of health careers at the Sudan port, and Dr. Esmat that this subsidy presents itself within the framework of the humanitarian response to the cholera epidemic, praising the active role of the World Health Organization and its continuous support for Sudan, in particular in the fight against epidemic.
Dr. Esmat This support will contribute to the coverage of a certain number of states that have recorded cholera cases, stressing that the ministry hopes for more support for the health sector. He also added that the World Health Organization will work as part of the extended partnership program to support and strengthen the health system during the next step.
For its part, Dr. Simon Sentos, deputy director of the World Health Organization – Office du Sudan, is that this subsidy is intended to face the cholera epidemic in the most affected states: Khartoum, North, the Nile and Sennar.
He explained that support includes drugs and examinations for the treatment of cholera, in addition to providing two fully equipped medical ambulances, and added that the World Health Organization also provided 20 tonnes of drugs in Khartoum to fight cholera.
