The new Khartoum is a title of consistency and advancement – a national murmur – ✍️ Dr Tariq Ashary

After Khartoum crossed war, destruction and displacement, the most important question that strikes on the doors of mind and hearts remains: how to return a truly attractive return? Is it enough to restore security alone? Or do people need more than that; To stable services, job opportunities and relay reconstruction? Can Khartoum restore its citizens a feeling of belonging and reassurance after all that they have lost?

These questions are not only passing conversations, but rather a basic axis of any vision of the reconstruction of the capital. The return to Khartoum does not only mean a return to houses and neighborhoods, but it is a return to a new life that restores the citizen what he lost

The last period of unprecedented destruction and suffering, which prompted its residents to move in search of security and stability. However, turning it over remains a dream that inhabits the heart of its people and a national duty that must be done to achieve. But the return alone is not enough, but rather an attractive return, again carrying the meaning of security, dignity and opportunities.

The citizen will not think of coming back unless he feels safe in his house, his street and his school. Consequently, the imposition of law law and the abolition of weapons of the civil scene represents the first step, while reactivating the security services of the police and the community, until the souls are reassured and the barrier of fear is broken.

Khartoum cannot increase without the return of electricity, water, hospitals and schools. The restoration of basic services, even in stages, represents the backbone to attract the population and restore the city the pulse of life that I missed.

The launch of urgent reconstruction projects for houses, roads and destroyed installations sends a strong message that Khartoum is a life. It is important to involve citizens in this process through initiatives and popular organizations, so that everyone feels that he is a partner in the construction of his city.

Encourage residents to return needs, such as tax exemptions and symbolic costs, and the supply of limited or support financial building materials. Employment possibilities must also be opened in reconstruction and services projects, in order to put an opportunity to improve the standard of living.

Back from hope is more important than the return of bricks and stone. Consequently, positive media campaigns must be launched, organizing cultural and social activities that restore confidence between citizens and restore to Khartoum the soul that leads people to love.

The crisis gave Sudan the opportunity to rethink the capital: a more organized city, with modern services and a long -term vision which makes it capable of absorbing future generations. The new pipe should be a title of firmness and advancement.

The attractive return of the residents of Khartoum is not only a return to neighborhoods and houses, but rather a return to life, hope and dignity. By obtaining security, restoration of services, reconstruction and psychological and social motivation, Khartoum can restore his capital position of all Sudanese. The return is not the end of the road, but rather the beginning of the age of the reconstruction of an entire homeland. And Sudan after the war is stronger and the most beautiful
