The North exchanges 112 billion and 618 million Sudanese pounds with the old currency

Northern Governor Abdeen Awadallah chaired the review meeting of the state committee tasked with implementing the gradual replacement of currency in the state in his office.

Mr. Fateh Al-Rahman Malik, Director of the Bank of Sudan, Dongola Branch, and Rapporteur of the Committee, explained the agenda of the meeting, which discussed the performance of the Committee during the previous period.

We appreciate the great efforts of the committee that have gone into the replacement process.

Malik pointed out that the state exchanged 112 billion 618 million Sudanese pounds, of which about 40 million out of a thousand still exist, being sorted and counted.

He said we had extracted 25,265 counterfeit papers, equivalent to 16 million books, and destroyed 72 billion books. He revealed that 59,000 accounts had been opened, stressing that account opening operations would continue.
