The Northern Governor meets a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross
The Northern Governor, Mr. Abdeen Awadallah, met in his office with a delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Danish Red Crescent and Sudanese Red Crescent in the Northern State.

Executive Director of the Northern State Red Crescent Society, Aisha Abdullah, said the delegation briefed the governor on the objectives of the Red Cross visit to the Northern State, which aims to strengthen partnerships in humanitarian work.
She confirmed that the Danish Red Cross has strong partnerships with the Sudanese Red Crescent in the northern state, particularly regarding the protection project since 2017.
Aisha highlighted that the services provided by the Red Cross have grown significantly in light of the circumstances facing the country, and she said that the governor explained to the delegation the obstacles that hinder the provision of humanitarian services.
Highlighting the need for Red Cross interventions through partnerships with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society and a number of relevant agencies.
In turn, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid in the Northern State, Dr. Abdul Rahman Ali Khairi indicated that the Red Cross delegation is visiting the Northern State to identify weak areas of the 'State.
He praised his assistance in the field of health and in various areas.
Khairy said the governor thanked the Danish Red Cross and Red Crescent for their previous interventions and spoke of the need to intervene in the following areas: supporting health, education, water services and protecting migrants.
He stressed that the governor ordered the creation of training rooms in all localities to urgently train volunteers and workers in the humanitarian field. He also led the response of organizations, including those concerned with climate change, to areas affected by flooding, rain and desert. encroachment and destructive phenomenon on the islands.
