The President of the Sovereignty Council meets the delegation of the Sudanese General Football Federation

Today, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met with the delegation of the Sudanese General Football Association, led by Dr. Moatasem Jaafar, president of the Federation. .

Dr. Moatasem Jaafar said in a press release: “The federation delegation extended its congratulations to the President of the Sovereignty Council on the occasion of the qualification of the Sudanese national team for the two biggest tournaments at the level of the African Union, which are the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The African Nations for the locals (the problem), expressing joy that the Sudanese national team has reached this stage in light of the challenges currently facing the country.

said Dr. Moatasem said: “Thanks to the determination, perseverance and efforts of the players as well as the experience and competence of the technical staff led by coach Kwasi Appiah, the Sudanese national team has been able to reach this qualifying stage for these two tournaments.

Underlining the determination to continue efforts to achieve more victories, and also to continue the World Cup competition, which will begin next March as part of the qualifiers for the World Cup final.

He added that he enlightened the President of the Sovereign Council on the plans, programs and projects of the Federation, the most important of which are the way of playing in Sudan and rehabilitating the Karima stadium, noting that the President of the Sovereign Council expressed his full response. to all plans and programs for the revival of the sports sector, and also confirmed its interest in supporting the stadium rehabilitation project.

The Dr. noted. Moatasem pointed out that the meeting focused on Al-Ittihad's plan to launch the Premier League tournament, which will start on January 10 in (8) cities of Sudan through (4) groups, where the matches will be held, the White Nile Group. in (Kosti and Rabak) and the Nile Group in (Abu Hamad and Berber). The North Group matches will also take place in (Dongola and Karima), and the Eastern Group will take place in (Gedaref and Kassala).

Confirmed Dr. Moatasem said that the Union seeks to raise the flag of Sudan abroad through football and Sudan's participation in all sports forums, noting that the President of the Sovereignty Council congratulated the technical staff of the Sudanese national team for this achievement, which will be added to that of Sudan. travel in the field of football.
