The President of the Sovereignty Council meets the Senegalese President

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met on the sidelines in Beijing with Senegalese President Basserou Diomaye Faye, Co-Chair of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, of his participation in the work of the China-Africa Forum currently being held in the Chinese capital, Beijing.

In the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Awad, and the Ambassador of Sudan to China, Ambassador Omar Siddiq.

The Foreign Minister said the meeting discussed the common features that unite the Sudanese and Senegalese people.

Stressing that the President of the Sovereign Council informed the Senegalese President of the developments in the situation in Sudan against the backdrop of the rebellion led by the Rapid Support militias against the State and its institutions, with the help of Arab groups from West Africa, with the aim of creating the State of Attawa.

He said the Senegalese president understood Sudan's position and expressed regret for foreign interference in the affairs of countries on the African continent. He promised to support Sudan in regional and international forums.
