Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, today participated in the activities of the World Urban Forum. This was in response to an invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Which benefits from broad participation from heads of state and government.
Lieutenant General Al-Burhan welcomed the Arab Republic of Egypt's hosting of the forum in its twelfth edition.
Commending the level of preparation and organization of the work of the conference, His Excellency highlighted, in his speech to the participants in the activities of the World Urban Forum, the successive achievements obtained by Egypt and its success in establishing a global cultural and developmental renaissance in a very specific period that witnessed significant developments at the regional and international levels.

We are pleased to share with you today, in the land of Kenanah, the sister Arab Republic of Egypt, the work of the World Urban Forum in its twelfth edition, which is held under the slogan: “It all starts locally… That we work together for sustainable cities and communities. » Allow me to begin my speech, I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, for the generous hospitality and warm welcome we received, which is not the case. surprising for our sister Egypt, and my warmest congratulations to His Excellency for hosting Egypt for this important international event, and my congratulations to the Egyptian leaders for their efforts in assuming the leadership of the African Union on the file of post-conflict reconstruction and development. . She hosted this event on the African continent for the first time in more than twenty years.

I take this opportunity to express our gratitude for the efforts and initiatives of the United Nations Human Settlements Program, aimed at strengthening our national efforts, particularly with regard to the pursuit of sustainable urbanization strategies, and supporting the establishment of coherent programs to address urbanization trends, promoting and strengthening urban regional planning strategies to implement sustainable development goals. Thank you also for his continued efforts in support of the Sudanese people during the Corona pandemic, and more recently during this year's torrential disasters and floods, and we are all confident that he will soon continue the same initiatives and projects.

As you know, the Sudanese people are facing a war that targets their existence, their state, their civilization, their infrastructure and their achievements, which have always been at the service of the brothers of Sudan and constitute a bridge for cooperation, communication , construction and transfer and exchange of benefits, by the Rapid Support terrorist militia, these groups which used foreign mercenaries to seize power, undermine the transition period and seize public and private property, they committed practices that have nothing to do with the Sudanese people, such as killings, rapes, robberies and looting, which constitute crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing and genocide. However, the Sudanese people and their armed forces are determined to preserve the state and its institutions and to defeat this plan, pending an outcome. active role of various brotherly countries, friendly actors and specialists in the process of rehabilitation of the urban sector affected by the systematic targeting of militias supported by regional and international powers, and working to prepare the reconstruction phase of the sectors of the region. The Sudanese state in the post-war phase, which will begin soon, God willing.
