The President of the Sovereignty Council receives a message from the President of the Republic of South Sudan

Today, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah_Burhan, received a written message from the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, regarding bilateral relations and the means to support and develop them.

Tut, President Salva Kiir's adviser on security affairs, who delivered the message, said in a press release that the meeting discussed the issue of South Sudan's oil.

Stressing that the southern oil transport line has been affected by the war currently taking place in Sudan, indicating that this line is currently suspended due to the continuation of military operations in the areas located on the line.

He said the chairman of the Sovereignty Council confirmed Sudan's willingness to provide anything that could facilitate the transportation of southern oil through Sudanese territory.

Tut added that it was agreed to hold a meeting between the oil ministries of the two countries to consider how to resolve this problem, indicating that oil is a lifeline for the citizens of the two brotherly countries.

It should be noted that the delegation from the southern state included, in addition to President Salva Kiir's advisor on security affairs, the ministers of the presidency and oil.
