The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces receives a telephone call from the High Commissioner for Human Rights
Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, received a telephone call from the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, during where he discussed issues related to human rights in Sudan.
During the phone call, the President of the Sovereignty Council affirmed the Sudanese government's commitment to human rights issues and its keenness to preserve these rights, based on the noble values and noble heritage enjoyed by the Sudanese people, as well as their commitment to all international conventions and covenants that preserve human rights.
The Commander-in-Chief explained that the Sudanese Armed Forces operate with pure professionalism and rely on well-established laws, consistent with international standards and conventions that preserve human rights and work towards the protection of civilians.
His Excellency affirmed Sudan's readiness to cooperate with the Commission and welcomed the visit of the independent expert for human rights to Sudan.
