The Prospective Role of the Sudanese Community in Egypt in Charitable Work – Something for the Homeland – ✍️ Mr. Salah Ghariba
From the Heart of Adversity Comes Giving: Sudanese Community in Egypt Is a Model of Charitable Action
Humanitarian crises are considered a mirror that reflects the values of societies. In their midst, the qualities of people are revealed and efforts are united. The current Sudanese crisis, which has forced thousands of families to forcibly relocate to neighboring countries, including Egypt, is a real test of the spirit of solidarity and humanity.
The Sudanese community in Egypt has a historical responsibility to provide aid and assistance to their displaced brethren. The cultural and historical interdependence that unites the Sudanese and Egyptian peoples imposes on them a moral duty to do everything in their power to alleviate the suffering of those affected.
Sudanese businessmen in Egypt have great wealth and financial capacity that enable them to contribute effectively to supporting development and relief projects. By providing financial and in-kind support, they can help establish relief initiatives and training opportunities, particularly in the field of transformative training, that contribute to empowering displaced persons and integrating them into Egyptian society.
As for charitable members of the community, they are able to provide moral and psychological support to affected families, organize awareness campaigns on the importance of donation and help meet basic needs for food, drink and clothing.
Sudanese youth are a driving force for change and are capable of making significant contributions in the field of charity work. Young people can organize volunteer campaigns in the fields of education and health, as well as cultural and sporting events that contribute to strengthening social cohesion between the displaced and the host community.
International and local organizations play a vital role in providing humanitarian assistance, but this role does not replace that of local agencies and civil society organizations. These organizations must work closely with the Sudanese community in Egypt, to determine the real needs of affected families and provide appropriate assistance through the availability of information and news from these organizations.
The formation of a council to organize charitable works within the Sudanese community in Egypt is a necessary step to ensure that aid reaches those who deserve it in a fair and transparent manner. This council can undertake several tasks, including developing strategic plans for charitable work, identifying priorities and urgent needs, developing effective working mechanisms, coordinating efforts by bringing together individual and collective efforts and directing them towards achieving common goals, and establishing partnerships through cooperation with international and local organizations, and evaluating performance by defining performance indicators to measure the impact of charitable projects and programs.
Charitable work in light of the Sudanese crisis faces many challenges, including:
The needs are great. The crisis has created enormous humanitarian needs that require significant resources. Given the dispersion of efforts, the lack of coordination between agencies working in the charitable field can lead to duplication of efforts and waste of charitable resources. Support agencies may encounter bureaucratic obstacles that hamper their work.
However, this crisis presents great opportunities to build a more supportive and cohesive society. Through collective and organized work, the Sudanese community in Egypt can achieve great achievements in the field of charitable work.
Charity work is not only a humanitarian duty, but rather an investment in the future. By providing support and relief to affected Sudanese families, we contribute to building a more just and equal society. Everyone must join hands to make this day, the International Day of Charity on September 5, a starting point for achieving more achievements in the field of charity work.
We call on all members of the Sudanese community in Egypt, Sudanese clubs and houses in Egypt, businessmen, philanthropists, international organizations and youth, to join hands and cooperate in providing support and relief to the affected Sudanese families. Let us make this day a new beginning to build a better future for our beloved Sudan.
