The role of women in matters of peace and war: a global forum in this northern state to honor their social efforts
During his meeting in his office today, His Excellency Mr. Abdeen Awadallah Muhammad, Governor of the Northern State, met with Mrs. Manal Makkawi Ibrahim, General Secretary for Social Affairs, and in the presence of a number of heads of social affairs departments. Her Excellency praised her continued and constructive activity and agreed to organize a global forum on women's issues in war and peace, in recognition of what she does, women play different roles in peace processes complex and multifaceted. These are the women who suffered the deadly fires of war, the bitterness of the asylum, displacement and loss of life, and who bore the burden of the ordeal of becoming widowed and bereaved.
The Governor reviewed the program accompanying this forum and received comprehensive clarifications from the Secretary General of Social Affairs, commending the role of women in society in times of war and peace. He stressed that women have a decisive role on the domestic front in peacetime. war and peace, so it must be taken care of, because women in Islam are mothers, sisters and daughters. The aunt, the uncle, the grandmother, the wife and the partner of man in the responsibility of life are therefore worthy of such encounters on our part.
The Secretary General for Social Affairs also confirmed that the forum will be held under the theme “Contribution of women to reunification and the reconstruction of life” from October 1 to 2, God willing.
