The sovereign decision means the failure of the competent authorities – the edge of the sword – ✍️ Muhammad Al-Sadiq

0 The Sovereign Council issued a decision through the press office stating: In order to facilitate procedures at border crossings and ensure the smooth flow of trade movements and the speed of customs clearance of goods, the President of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, ordered that the supervision of border crossings be transferred to the Sovereign Council.

0 I had spoken in this space about the problem caused by the decision of the Bank of Sudan and implemented by the customs forces for the certificate (IM), because of which the loyalists and their assistants went on strike after working at the crossing points. Which caused a complete paralysis and an accumulation of goods in the customs warehouses.

0 The strange thing is that following the decision of the Sovereign Council, the designated Director of Customs issued statements in which he affirms that all service delivery points work for service seekers, in addition to continuing their role of protecting the economy by fighting and reducing smuggling. Stressing that in customs, they fully remit their annual fees from the general budget to the Ministry of Finance, and with an increase, despite the war and the shrinking of the work areas of customs counters in the states affected by the war.

0 It is clear that the statement of the designated customs director is incorrect, and the proof of this is the strikes taking place in Halfa, Arqin, Sawakin and the port of Othman Digna. The decision of the Sovereign Council that was issued clearly indicates the inability of the concerned and competent authorities, including customs, to manage and fulfill the workload of the ports and border posts in the required manner.

0 Thus, the decision of the Sovereign Council, which referred to the rapid clearance of goods, means direct interference in customs procedures, the policies of the Ministry of Commerce, as well as the policies of the Bank of Sudan, in addition to interference in traffic procedures, specifications and procedures for managing level crossings.

This is where the question lies. Can the Sovereign Council accomplish all these tasks that fall within the competence of the executive branch? Therefore, what is the entity that works to improve performance?

0 In general, the decision of the Sovereignty Council to transfer the surveillance of border crossings to it signifies the failure of the three competent authorities: Bank of Sudan and Ministry of Commerce and Customs.

0 Tomorrow, God willing, we will continue if there is any remnant of life left. I swear there is no intention behind this.
