The Transitional Sovereignty Council mourns the loss of the great artist Dr. Abdul Qader Salem, who passed away today following a short-lived illness.
When the Sovereignty Council mourns him, it mourns the Sudanese people, pioneers of Sudanese song and one of the most important pillars of the country’s music.
The deceased was known for his great passion for Sudanese heritage, as he traveled to various countries around the world to showcase it, especially the authentic heritage of Kordofan.
Theaters and art houses bear witness to his perseverance and diligence in academic research linked to music and heritage.
The deceased left a cultural and artistic legacy that will guide future generations.
