Today, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement rejecting any insult to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in light of media coverage by some foreign columnists and activists.
I was certain, without a doubt, that the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs had become its first and last goal to win the satisfaction and love of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, rightly or wrongly.
In my article I wrote yesterday, I made a clear and frank criticism of the Saudi Ambassador to Sudan, Ali bin Hassan bin Jaafar, due to the closure of his embassy to Sudanese wishing to visit in Saudi Arabia for the purpose of work or visit, at a time when Saudi embassies in various Arab and African capitals are granting entry visas to Sudanese who wish to travel to Saudi Arabia.
In a normal situation, it is customary, according to diplomatic standards, for the Sudanese Foreign Ministry to summon the Saudi ambassador to inquire about the matter, but this did not happen.
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in its statement released today, held responsible the press columnists and activists who had insulted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs bears all moral and legal responsibility if it does not fulfill its role and has opened the door wide for ambassadors to travel at their convenience, without supervision or accountability.
The Sudanese Foreign Ministry has no right to silence voices and work to limit press freedom, and it has never been able to do so.
It would be better for the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to look inward, assess and evaluate its performance, and not cover up its deficit with such data that has no value or weight, but diminishes and diminishes its value in front of public opinion and. motivates journalists to adopt media campaigns that expose the shortcomings of this ministry.
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has failed to make a breakthrough in Sudan's external file, and we have not heard about Sudan's return to the African Union or its return to the IGAD organization.
Has the Sudanese Ambassador to Kenya returned to Nairobi to carry out his duties, or is he still stationed in Port Sudan until further notice????
Abuse and defamation are completely unacceptable behaviors and totally incompatible with the ethics of the journalistic profession and the journalistic code of honor. This does not mean that the press should play its role in exposing flaws and directing criticism at any state official. from his position, because there is not much tolerance for criticism.
