With the support of the Bureau of Multi-Partners, and in partnership with the Peace Commission, the United Nations Development Program organized a workshop at the Sudan port, aimed at allowing women to confront harmful discourse, to support affected companies and to promote peace at the local level.

Today, Wednesday, the training workshop organized by the United Nations Development Program, which lasted three days, was concluded and focused on the activation of sudden women to meet a hate speech and the effects of the psychological trauma resulting from current circumstances.

The head of the Peace Committee, Dr. Dubilo, explained that the workshop is of particular importance because of its great societal role in the realization of political and social stability.

He added that it represents the beginning of a series of workshops which will be implemented consecutively in order to spread a culture of peace and to reject the speech of hatred within society.

For his part, Luka Randa, the resident representative of the United Nations Development Program, stressed the importance of confronting the speech of hatred, noting that the organization of such workshops contributes to achieving psychological stability, in particular in the light of the many shocks to which women were exposed following the current circumstances. He added that the program will continue to organize these workshops, stressing that with the climbing of hatred speeches and the exacerbation of the effects of psychological trauma, women in Sudan continue to play a central role in the support of their societies and the promotion of peace.

The workshop has collected women leaders with civil society organizations, young activists and representatives of various states, within the framework of wider efforts to support the role of women in the promotion of social cohesion and the contribution to the restoration of Sudan.
