The United Nations warn against an imminent attack on White and worries the conditions of civilians in Kordofan and Darfur

The United Nations expressed a major concern concerning frequent reports indicating that the large military crowds of the rapid support forces in preparation for a future attack against the city of Al -Byad, the capital of the northern state of Kordofan, in the midst of the warnings of climbing violations against civilians in the region.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volcker Turk, said in a statement on Thursday published that worrying information indicates the intention of the rapid support forces launched an attack on the city of Al -Abyad, as it has caused in the past two weeks with enormous Darfur reinforcements in strategic axes in Al -Mazroub, Suid, Barra and Dubbat.

Turk expressed his deep regret of the fall of dozens of civilian victims following continuous military operations, noting that the Human Rights Committee documented the murder of at least 60 civilians in attacks by rapid support on the villages of the locality of Bara since July 10, while local organizations have reported the murder of more than 300 people in these attacks.

On the other hand, reports from the emergency rooms have documented the murder of 23 civilians and the injury of more than 30 others following air strikes by the Sudanese armed forces in the Western Kordofan State regions between July 10 and 14.

“More than two years after the outbreak of the conflict, the parties at war are always treated with a blatant lightning with life and security of civilians,” said Tark, warning that the climbing of violence in Kordofan and Darfur North will aggravate the humanitarian crisis and double the suffering of the population.

In the same context, Turk expressed his concern concerning the conditions of civilians in the city of El Fasher, north of Darfur, after a series of land and air attacks carried out by the rapid support forces in the past few days, and led to civilian victims.

The High Commissioner called on all parties to immediately stop climbing and guarantee compliance with international humanitarian law, in particular with regard to the protection of civilians and biological infrastructure, emphasizing the need to allow safe and unconditional access to humanitarian aid and the application of human calm periods.

He also underlined the importance of the complete and independent investigation in all violations, and the responsibility of those responsible for the latter to ensure justice and put an end to impunity.
