The war in Sudan between political opportunism and moral duty – The face of truth – ✍️ Ibrahim Shaqlawi
Leaders of the Civil Forces Coordination (Taqaddum) continued to warn of the outbreak of an imminent civil war whenever the army strengthened its control over an area or advanced on the fighting fronts. This affair reflects a state of anxiety and tension within the political class. According to observers, the actions of political forces in the war are governed by the victories of the army and are not controlled by the moral dimension which speaks of the protection of civilians. whether these forces are working for the victory of the militia based on the promises they made to it or the false slogans they keep shouting, or at least on the failure of the army or militia to win and to go to war to facilitate the conclusion of an agreement. a military and political settlement that distances both parties from the aftermath of war.
This clearly shows us how these political forces think: it seems that they do not reject war because it is heinous due to the violations or harm it causes for civilians, but rather because they reject victory. of the army, because it rejects the victory of the army. means that they have become outside of the political equation, or at least they have let fall into their hands the claims that this represents the legitimacy of the revolution, or it is the inspiring civilian forces that refuse to let themselves overwhelm and work to strengthen civil power. This, beloved, is what gives the impression that the situation in Sudan is tense, complex and without solutions, and constantly increases tensions between the army and the political parties (Taqaddum).
This is why we have emphasized that the country needs a comprehensive Sudanese-Sudanese political dialogue that ends internal conflicts and seeks to achieve peace and stability, a warning via journalist Shawqi Abdel Azim issued yesterday , member of the Coordination of Progress. Al Jazeera Mubasher in which he said that prolonging the war would turn it into a civil war. I hope this will be taken seriously, because before he said: Not implementing the framework agreement means going to war, and war. In fact, the man apparently knew about the coup plan, which Maryam al-Sadiq al-Mahdi said was hidden in the hadith. If the implementation of the framework agreement is hampered, we will develop alternative options, and each incident will be discussed. .
All of these signals are clear and confirm that there are plans in place to move towards alternatives. So they say it in a studied and informed way. Therefore, all government and military agencies must take Shawqi's statement seriously. how they handle this, but I suspect that since the man managed to make the first statement when he confirmed that war was about to break out, and he was right about that, we now have to handle the matter so that the country. he doesn't slip into the civil war he talked about. It is certain that the man has information or maybe he has a plan that he knows about, they are linked to all the circles that started the war and are managing it. and finance its course.
Shawqi's speech should be read together with the statement by Yasser Arman, leader of the People's Movement (Revolutionary Democratic Movement), which was reported on websites, in which he said that the rapid support militia had committed massacres against civilians in the east of the island, and What happened in the east of the island and what happened in other areas is considered a massacre against civilians. Firstly, the war is no longer between two armed parties, but rather includes tribes and the society of El Fasher in Tamboul. the current war is not a war against the survivors, but rather has turned into a war of all against all.
Regardless, it is clear that the army's victories on a number of battle axes have caused frustration among some leaders of the Coordination of Civilian Forces (Taqaddum), who therefore began to talk about an imminent civil war, which is one of the most serious errors. projections that they continued to make every time there was pressure on the rapid support militia on the ground because they realize and say that the victory of the army means absolute political authority and a permanent power in which there is no place for civilians today. , the army advanced on several axes, Omdurman and Bahri, reconquering the city of Dinder and besieging the city of Sinja, the liberation of which should be announced at any time. This is in addition to the arrival of the army commander. yesterday evening, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah visited the Butana region to witness the preparations of the armed forces to liberate Al-Jazeera State from its east.
This is in addition to the widespread progress noted in the combat axes in accordance with the plan and objectives announced by the army. This makes us confirm that the statements of Shawqi and Yasser Arman reveal the fear of the army's victories in this war, which reflects. a state of anxiety among political forces and the possible repercussions they fear on the political process if they The current situation has evolved towards an overwhelming victory for the Sudanese Armed Forces.
However, as it appears that the Sudanese people have chosen to support their army to the end in this battle, with the violations and atrocities that have taken place against them amounting to rape and confiscation of property, it remains a hope for the strengthening of peace and the restoration of security thanks to the army's victories after the militias failed to respond to the Jeddah agreement signed on May 11. Last year ended this war and the dangerous crisis that nearly hit Sudan, and everyone is still waiting for the political forces supporting the militias to change their approach to the army's victories, which constitutes the next steps that can determine the characteristics of the political process expected to include all Sudanese without exception so that war does not continue between political forces. the opportunism of political parties and the moral and national duty of the Sudanese armed forces, which work to restore security and peace to the Sudanese.
May you always be well.
