The Zakat office in North Kordofan covers more than 359 displaced families in the shelter under the cover of health insurance.

The joint committee between the National Health Insurance Fund, the North Kordofan State branch and the State Zakat Diwan Secretariat held its regular meeting, during which it discussed the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions, the renewal of cards for families sponsored by Zakat Diwan and the care of displaced families in the unified accommodation center (the land port).

The Secretary of the Zakat Diwan Secretariat in North Kordofan State, Mr. Musa Yusuf Muhammad, praised the role played by the committee in serving poor families and covering them under the umbrella of health insurance. The joint committee has implemented many points of the memorandum agreed between health insurance and Zakat Diwan, in addition to the commitment of the Diwan to pay the contributions of the sponsored families.

The Secretary of the State Zakat Office confirmed that more than 359 families of displaced persons were covered and admitted to the shelter under the health insurance, and that the Zakat Office ensured the payment of 25% of the value of the insured's charge for the medical services provided, stressing the formation of a committee to examine the families targeted by the shelter.

The Director of the National Health Insurance Fund of the North Kordofan State Branch, Dr. Khattab Al-Samani, praised the partnership and twinning between the health insurance and the secretariat of the State Zakat Office, which is one of the distinguished partnerships whose performance has been reflected in insuring poor families and paying contributions, which has had a positive impact on the satisfaction of the insured.

The State Health Insurance Director explained that the administration is seeking to expand the restoration of the medical service across public sector institutions and coordinate with localities to make the service accessible to citizens who hold the health insurance card.
