Transitional Sovereignty Council President Meets Iranian President

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met today in New York, on the sidelines of the work of the United Nations General Assembly, with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian.
The meeting focused on the development of relations between the two countries and ways to support prospects for bilateral cooperation.
The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council briefed the Iranian President on the general situation in Sudan, in the context of the rebellion of the terrorist militia Rapid Support against the state and its institutions.
He stressed the government's cooperation with all initiatives aimed at resolving the crisis through dialogue. However, the stubbornness of the rebel militias prevented this.
The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council congratulated the Iranian President on his victory in the presidential elections. Welcoming the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in support of Sudan in regional and international forums. Highlighting the extensive cooperation relations between the two countries in all fields.
For his part, the Iranian president praised the developments in bilateral relations between the two countries and said that the cooperative relations between his country and Sudan received great attention from the leaders of the two countries.
