West Kordofan Governor Confirms Support for Blood Pressure Measurement and Early Detection Campaign Among IDPs

West Kordofan State Governor, Major General (M), Jurist Mohamed Adam Mohamed Gayed, has affirmed the commitment of the state government to provide the necessary support for the success of the blood pressure measurement and early detection campaign, which targets IDPs of the state housed in El Obeid town, stressing the importance of preventive interventions to reduce the spread of the disease and its health complications.

The governor stressed, during his meeting today in his temporary office in El Obeid, with the campaign advisory committee, that high blood pressure is one of the most common diseases, which requires intensifying organized and sustainable health efforts, especially among the most vulnerable groups, including the displaced.

Jade appreciated the efforts made by the advisory committee, highlighting the state government’s continued support for health initiatives that help protect society and strengthen the health security system.

The meeting was attended by the Director of State Health Insurance, Dr. Muhammad Hamid Abu Farda, and the Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid, Mr. Al-Manna Dafallah, as well as members of the campaign’s advisory committee.

On his part, the Director General of the State Ministry of Health and Social Development, Minister-designate, Dr. Atef Ibrahim Abu Anja, affirmed the ministry’s commitment to fully cooperate with the campaign, ensuring the success of the Blood Pressure Measurement and Early Detection Week.

He explained that the meeting discussed technical and organizational arrangements for the campaign week, as well as mechanisms to achieve the objectives, so as to improve opportunities for early detection and treatment.

The campaign aims to detect and treat undiagnosed cases of high blood pressure early in the age group 18 years and above, and extends for seven days, alongside the implementation of awareness workshops to educate displaced people in West Kordofan about the dangers of the disease and its complications.
