On the July fifteenth of each year, Le Monde celebrates the International Day of Youth Skills and is an opportunity to highlight the vital importance to offer young people the skills necessary for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship. In the light of the current circumstances that Sudan is going through, this opportunity acquires a double importance, in particular for the young Sudanese present in Egypt following the war. The awareness of these young people of the need to develop their skills is not only a choice, but rather a national duty and a vital will to rebuild and recover the country after the end of the conflict.

The war in Sudan pushed a large number of young people to the trip and asylum, leaving behind their lives and their dreams. Despite the cruelty of circumstances, this test can become an opportunity for construction and development, if young people invest in themselves and acquire the skills necessary for the future. The next step in Sudan requires solid weapons and innovative minds to rebuild what has been destroyed by war, whether at urban, economic or social levels.

Investing in the skills of Sudanese youth today is an investment in the future of Sudan. The reconstruction process will not be limited to buildings of buildings and infrastructure, but will extend to the reconstruction of man and society. This requires a wide range of skills, including technical and technological skills, with accelerated development in the fields of technology and digitization, the reconstruction process will need experts in digital technology, data analysis, artificial intelligence, programming to modernize infrastructure and create modern systems.

There will be an urgent need for initiatives for young people in entrepreneurship and innovation that create employment opportunities and helps stimulate economics, through small and medium projects and startups that focus on innovative solutions to integrate challenges after war, as well as in the light of global skills, skills requiring renewable energies, environmental management renewable, environmental management, management of sustainable agriculture.

Communication and leadership skills. The construction of coherent companies requires young leaders who can communicate effectively, resolve conflicts and improve the spirit of teamwork to build trust bridges and restore societal cohesion, as well as general skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and the ability to adapt, which are basic skills to treat changes and challenges that will accompany the post-war stage.

The initiative model “Entity of sustainable youth” which contributed to its creation (the Arab center for press services) for its owner and president of its board of directors, Dr. Set Al Banat, who seeks to integrate social, economic and environmental development in its activities, is a brilliant example of what young Sudanese needs at this stage. When the entity asks: “Are you ready to make the real difference?” It is a direct invitation to each young Sudanese to be part of the solution. The promises of the entity to “real opportunities in future jobs, intelligent green entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity” and “practical exercises on leadership, communication and teamwork” are exactly what is necessary to empower young people.

The opportunities available to join these entities in Egypt, which offers an “network of active and ambitional young people who creates a tangible impact”, is an invaluable opportunity for young Sudanese. Thanks to this, they can not only develop their personal and professional capacities, but also to establish solid relationships of relationships, see successful experiences and acquire practical experience which will be the cornerstone of the construction of the new Sudan.

Sudanese youth in Egypt must realize that their presence here is not the end, but rather a new starting point. This challenge is an opportunity to rethink professional paths, acquire new skills that were not available before and prepare for a leadership role in the recovery process. This call is not limited to the distinguished academic, but also extends to all, because each individual has a role that can play in the construction of the fatherland.
