The President of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces inspects the rehabilitation operations of Atbara airport and directs its opening during the year
Today, during his visit to Nile State, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General #Abdel Fattah_Burhan, inspected the progress of the rehabilitation works, modernization and maintenance of Atbara airport to make it international in accordance with the required specifications.
His Excellency ordered the Civil Aviation Authority to include as many airports as possible in the list of international airports and increase efforts to open the airport during this year as strategic project that responds to internal and external interests.
Al-Burhan stressed the need for airport specifications to comply with the principles and rules in force within the International Civil Aviation Organization.
His sovereignty monitored the progress of works in the new terminals and rehabilitation of the runway with the required specifications and air navigation devices at the airport so as to improve inbound and outbound operations to meet the needs of the country in all domains.
